Showcasing some multiplayer gameplay for Modern Warfare 2, Gametrailers added a teaser featuring the first seemingly unlockable killstreak perk, simply titled “AC130″.
I’m sure everyone remembers the AC-130 mission from CoD4 (the one where you’re allowed in the gunner seat of an AC-130 and told many times NOT to hit the church with gunfire). I remember hearing a lot of people complaining about that concept not being integrated into the multiplayer. Well, apparently Infinity Ward does read its flamed forums and has blended the AC-130 into this next iteration.
At face value I think this could work. The killstreak needed to achieve the perk during play is 11. The only way that will happen often enough to matter is on large maps with tons of people; so an airship bombarding the loads of frenzied players below doesn’t seem out of place. It also enables the player to control the fireworks rather than having a haphazard helicopter flying around either missing everyone or being pinpoint accurate from a mile away. Oh, and the flares are a nice touch.
The end of the trailer? Hilarious. Take THAT fourzerotwo!
