What’s your geekspective? Playing Your Role

Levels, classes, and often-oversized swords doth not an RPG make. Playing a role, or role-playing if you will, is what makes an RPG an RPG.
Do you role-play?

Today marks the launch of the semi-expansion, semi-brand new experience for Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST. And with it comes a brand new way to play with Firefight mode.
Firefight is essentially Left 4 Dead meets Halo, and is a very similar multi-player co-op survival experience. Which brings me to today’s question:
What do you think of this recent focus on co-op survival game-types?

It started with an invasion from the East. One day, everyone in the local arcade was doing nothing but wiggling sticks around and pressing buttons or pretending to drive cars. The next day, everyone was a bunch of dancing beatmaniacs.
What do you think of music games?
Who’s that pokemon?

We all know that it’s coming, and we geeks have been in training for it our entire lives. Time’s running out, everyone. 2012 is the newest coming year being pegged as the end of days.
What’s your plan for the coming zombie apocalypse?

In keeping with this week’s celebration of the release of Arkham Asylum, let’s get to know one another’s crazy sides, shall we?
Have you ever done anything you should be locked in Arkham Asylum for?

I’ve been feeling all sorts of nostalgic lately, so I thought it might be a good time for this one:
Who’s your favorite classic Disney character?

“The best four days in gaming.”
That’s how they refer to Gen Con, but why? If you look at and compare all of the events at the convention, you’ll find that only 5% (at most) of the show is dedicated to video games.
Board games are the true stars. Let’s put the term “gaming” back in its rightful place.
What’s your favorite board game?

Like them or not, the concept of the “achievement” has revolutionized how we, as gamers, play games and how developers make games.
What do you think about achievements?
This week, the entire Geekspective crew will be heading to Indianapolis for Gen Con, and we really hope to meet some of you there! So, since we’re on con mode, let’s have some con discussion!

Which convention do you enjoy the most?

While playing and beating the heck out of and reviewing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled I got to thinking about all the original TMNT action figures I had as a kid and got to wondering if any of them would be worth any money nowadays. Chances are they’re not, but I still wish I still had them.
Is there anything you’ve kept (or wish you’d kept) from your childhood that’s worth a lot of money today?
So, geekspective.com has been around for nearly a month now. Everything seems to be going great so far! It’s good to see the community growing bit by bit. I thought this might be a good opportunity to talk about the elephant in the room.
What do you think of Geekspective so far?
A little while back, geekspective brought you the review of Mtn. Dew’s World of Warcraft themed Game Fuel. Marketing schemes aside, we geeks need our caffeine.

What do you drink while you game?

Video games have been around for a long time now, and so have most of us. I doubt there’s a single visitor to this website who hasn’t grown up with or around them. Which brings us to today’s question:
What was the first video game you ever played?
What do you think about everything going digital?

I think we’re pretty damn close to moving on from calling this the Information Age and starting to officially call it the Digital Age.
I was talking with my dad the other day and explaining how all the music I listen to is digital now. It felt like the same conversation we had years ago when cassette tapes went extinct.
